Most comics have a white background, but a few have been inverted to depict scenes in space, at night, etc.

This means that for instance the sky should be black! It is not inverted if a guy is shown in silhouette for instance as in 1560: Bubblegum, or a landscape ditto as in 1569: Magic Tree.
