This is the ninth [[:Category:April fools' comics|April fools' comic]] released by [[Randall]]. The previous fools comic was [[1975: Right Click]] from Sunday April 1, 2018.

The title is a reference to the movie ''{{w|Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome}},'' which had the tagline: "Two men enter. One man leaves." The "Thunderdome" in the film is a gladiatorial arena where conflicts are resolved by a duel to the death.

In the interactive comic, which began at noon ET (16:00 UTC) on April 1, 2019, users are shown two emoji, and vote for their favorite. In the first round, the voting period for each bout lasted 37.5 seconds. The voting period for each bout doubled for the second, third, and fourth rounds. The voting period for each bout for the fifth round through the end was 26 minutes. The entire bracket is expected to take 24 hours 6 minutes.

The competing candidates are periodically overlaid with heart emojis that float up from the vote button oscillating in a triangle wave pattern before disappearing above the candidate, and may represent real-time votes for each emoji. Below, the results of past bouts are shown with the "loser" displayed in greyscale. Supposedly, the emoji will be eliminated one-by-one until there are a final two emoji facing off, with the one most voted-for being crowned the best emoji. This is likely a parody of March Madness.

Opening developer tools on this page will reveal that no network traffic is taking place after the initial page load, and an asynchronous data load. It would appear that the floating hearts are not presenting information in real-time, about when other users are voting. Also, it would appear that clicking 'vote' does not present any data from your local client to a remote server. We can infer from this that the competition itself is an April Fools joke, and that it may not, in fact, be happening as presented.

This would mean that the commentary and the winners could have been scripted before the competition began.

The commentary appears to suggest that there's some real-time feedback from the results of the competition, for instance "It seems like our friends over Australia is joining the fun" appeared in the commentary. So does "We are getting a lot of questions on this today. This is live commentary, folks." https://i.imgur.com/8kPwjou.png, directly declaring that the commentary is live.

Note that the schedule might show different emoji pictures than the main voting screen, presumably because of fonts. The image is pre-rendered.

The competing candidates are chosen in order of unicode value at first, resulting in similar emojis being compared. Examples include:

😜 squaring off against 😛 - two emoji playfully sticking their tongues out

🤩 squaring off against 😍 - two smiling emojis with symbols for eyes

😂 squaring off with 🤣 - two emojis that are crying in laughter/joy.

The title text consists of the wrestlers emoji (🤼) eight times over. If it appears to be nonsense, then your browser may not be parsing the title text correctly.

It appears the eggplant emoji (🍆) and the peach emoji (🍑) have been left out of the bracket.

This reminds me of his "free speech" comic. In both, he implies that if people get mad at you for what you say, you must be the one in the wrong. He also implies that people who make that kind of statement "don't understand" why people take offense. That makes very little sense. If they say something like that, they must understand why some people dislike them. Quite possibly they even enjoy having that effect. The term "drama" is invoked on social media for any emotional response the invoker feels is too large to be warranted by the situation. : I agree, this particular comic makes no reference to political views or current affairs. It is much more likely that this comment is based on personal experiences. The only links to Donald Trump are that this a comment about social media when there has been a recent news article relating to Trump and social media and that the topic is about defensiveness, which Trump is often accused of. Both are likely to be purely coincidental, given Trump has always been highly active on social media and the accusation of defensiveness could be applied to millions of people.

One should also note that the comic number is 1911, the famous handgun made by Colt adding another meaning to the term defensive profile.

This comic sadly shows the very disturbing trent that more and more people think their feelings are a valid argument in a discussion and thus any statement they disagree with should not be allowed. If you can not handle reality then that is bad luck for you, but you have no right to impeach on the rights of others.
