		+	The title text is interesting to think about. In some sense, you can map the celestial sphere to the earth's surface by putting a mirror on the ground. It doesn't make astronomy any easier, and your microscope is out of focus. But if you painted the sky onto the ground, it's a different story: now you can capture a good chunk of light from each object by getting your lens close, whereas with a telescope you only get a tiny sliver.
