 Person who has questionable proficiency (at math in this case) makes gender-specific judgments society taught him to make. To be part of the whole you have to confirm to the stereotypes and labels placed upon you. You'll be forever alone otherwise. Sad story. Society wants nothing but to put people in boxes, but people aren't items to categorize. People are far more multifaceted than any stereotype society expects entire groups of people they don't care about to conform to. You call this a Catch-22 that's impossible to break, but I disagree. There will always be stereotypes, but that doesn't mean we just blindly follow those stereotypes and conform to however society thinks we should be based on our gender or color. If idiots who know nothing about be think I'm an evil egomaniac because I'm good at math, so be it, becausr that's they're fault for choosing to take the easy way out to get to know a person. So long as I've got people willing to understand who I really am and not what some stereotype thinks I am, I will never be alone. This comic is titled "How It Works". But this shouldn't be how it works. And there will always be people who'll prove that it's wrong.
