I don't think the idea is that the parents would kill the child if something went wrong (that would not be responsible parenting.) I think the idea is that the child would not be able to run away from home and there would be no incentive for someone to kidnap the child, since it could not live without insulin from the parents.

	::By fat-products, I am assuming you mean high-cholesterol or high-trans products. These have not been shown to be as effective than high GI carbohydrates. Other than carbohydrates, sodium has been linked to insulin resistance as well.
