::::I don't interpret it as an error - it reads as natural to me, as Harry asking a rhetorical question. [https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/12760/should-rhetorical-questions-end-with-a-period A quick google search] shows that ending rhetorical questions with periods is done sometimes, if not often.
