Another fan of XKCD :) Discovered it through the "new" What if section - and has then proceeded to the beginning of the XKCD comic. And found that I needed this page to fully understand and appreciate many of the comics.

Favorites

I have so far (May 2014) only progressed through the first 400 comics (+ references) but have read all the new since October 2013. So there may be many favorites waiting for me. (Reached no. 400 on May 28th 2014, then 480 September 15th 2014 - slow progress at the moment. 500 in November. 530 reached in January 2015. 540 march 2015. 550 June 2015. 560 mid June 2015. 570 end of July 2015. 582 September 1st 2015. 585 October 20th. 591 February 14th 2016).

This is just a list of some comics I really appreciate:

The girl at the bridge is mocking Star Wars fan by using the opening line from the Star Trek series. Hair Bun Girl behind (could be Princess Leia) is clearly distressed by this "mistake". First Cueball: So you just came down and made a hole in our ship without permission?

First Cueball: Why are they still firing?
Second Cueball: Oh, the turret operators pretty much do their own thing.

Entire Corridor peristalsis and colon. N/A With the comment from Hair Bun Girl about peristalsis - the bowel movement getting food etc. through the digestive system, and wi the three chambers with coins above a colon like structure, leading intot he corridor with these motions, with a coind both going down the colon and through the peristalsis, there can be no doubt that this is the digestive system for this "living" space ship, and coins is what it lives off. This intepretation can further be extended to the very front end, where there is the apperance of a head that eats coins (see the front end overview) and at the read end a coind is bouncing out at the very last shaft before the very end of the ship. Suggesting where this animal get rid of the waste prodcuts afterwards. (The rest of the ship is not part of this interpretaton).

A zoom in on an ant is used to indicate size in Earth's past and under the Tree in that explanation there is an ant colony where one ant is much bigger than the others; an ant queen, a clear reference to the ant queen in the Destroyer. (1090, 1088) Comic: 1213: Combination Vision Test Overview Megan wants synesthesia at the rear end at bottom of the hull. :Megan: I want synesthesia so bad I can taste it. synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. One typical version is where numbers are percieved as having colors. This was used in the comic referenced. In this comic a wish for something makes Megan almost taste it. If she did indeed have this dysfunction, she might already have what she wished for... This is one of the rare insidences where there are two almost indentically Megans in one scene.|}
