Talk page messages[edit]

Indentation in discussion pages tends to be done with semicolons (:) instead of spaces. More semicolons before a line mean more indentation. We also usually use ~~~~ to sign posts here the way this message is signed. Davidy²²[talk] 09:46, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

here's an example of how it works in practice: -- 173.245.53.107 09:42, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
    indented with five spaces
this style is used mostly for quotes and code

a new line is not connected with the previous ones, unlike paragraphs of unindented text ( line break used here ) which group them with no visible mark, as the break is considered just white space.

use two CRs (Enters) to start a new paragraph.

this is indented with colons...
note that indenting using colons force a new paragraph
even if using the same numbers of colons,

and line breaks stop indenting, just like with the other indenting style. -- 173.245.53.107 09:42, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
