Editing Category talk:COVID-19

Many of these comics have a introductory sentence such as "This comic is another in a series of comics related to the 2020 pandemic". By now it is 2022. Clearly a comic from 2020/2021 does not reference the 2022 part of the pandemic, but calling it the 2020 pandemic also is misleading, isn't it? I guess we should put some common rule on how to change this. Also: The wiki link is usually like this: <nowiki>{w|2019–20 coronavirus outbreak|2020 pandemic}}</nowiki> - while the 2019-20 coronavirus outbreak again is a redirect on wikipedia as these year-numbers aren't really that relevant anymore and isntead go to COVID-19 pandemic - maybe we should also just call it COVID-19 pandemic and can then change the complex wikilink alltogether to an easy one with the same title as it displays. --[[User:Lupo|Lupo]] ([[User talk:Lupo|talk]]) 08:30, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

:It would also be confusing to have every (relevent) 2020 comic reference the "2020 Pandemic", every 2021 comic redone to reference the "2020/2021 Pandemic", start with "2020-2022 Pandemic" this year and rewrite accordingly if it further stays as a Pandemic into '23, '24, etc. 
:Best obvious compromise is "2020+ Pandemic" (one side or other of the "Covid-19" key). Doesn't need continual (or at least yearly) rewriting. Not likely to be confused with MERS or ('original') SARS or any other novel popup pathogen.
:Perhaps when pandemic is officially over (or, as is likely, declared officially now endemic), it can be rewrittenvto (or added with) the true range, as evenrually was the 1914-1918 Great War evenrually - although that's also a bad example in some countries, I know.
:Maybe doesn't matter until "SARS-COV-3, a.k.a. Covid-27" arrives, or whatever other thing ''next'' surprises us. Or when a decade or so has passed and (with Randall still hopefully doing funny comics about how his new hoverboard/jetpack/matter-transporter just doesn't live up to its original promise) the explainxkcd audience is starting to get people who don't realise (and can't remember) that it was ''discovered'' (give or take conspiracy theories!) near the end of 2019 but only became officially pandemical in '20, hence the discrepancy.
