I feel like we should be calculating the amount of gold using volume, not mass, and then by using density to calculate everything else. However, the temperature inside the sun is way above gold's boiling point, and I can't find any data on the density of gold when it's a gas, so I'm stuck. Re "I can't find any data on the density of gold when it's a gas, so I'm stuck"  While Gold in its solid phase and liquid phase have a pretty stable density, it is one of the defining properties of a gas that its density is highly dependent on environmental conditions (i.e. pressure and temperature).
