::::As someone who has studied a lot of music theory, I can say from a purely musical standpoint, there is no difference between a treble clef and G-clef. They are simply two different names for the same thing. While both symbols have their advantages and disadvantages, it really boils down to clarity vs. accessibility. 🎼 may be displayed on more devices, but 𝄞 makes things clearer on the specific symbol by getting rid of the staff. I personally have no preference on which symbol ExplainXKCD should use, but there are my arguments for each side.
