Just for reference: the maths to scale down the Niagara Falls flow an convert from cubic feet to cubic centimeters:
> 1e5*(.3048)^3*1000^2/(1e3)^3 [1] 2.831685 > 1e5*(.3048)^3*1000^2/(1e3)^3/2 [1] 1.415842
