NOTE: I'm assuming the IE/VE ligature is IE, where the I is tilted Could this also be a reference to the historical Latin pronunciation of Æ, and its separation into "AA" (which could be represented by "ar" in English ("r" is silent), hence the ligature "AR") and "IE" (which would be pronounced "ee" as in "relieve") 1844161 (talk) 15:21, 14 April 2023 (UTC) - I disagree.
