I think this is a Frisky Dingo reference to some degree. Psychoticpotato (talk) 16:44, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

:# Quickly looking up Frisky Dingo on Wikipedia, as I never knew about it before now, it says it parodied (supervillain-related, etc) tropes. And xkcd is often parodying that kind of trope. Probably just more a case of both referencing of the same long run of prior 'original' tropes from other (parodying and non-parodying) source material, essentially in parallel. Unless we know Randall has made some direct references to FD before, we can't be certain he's even aware of it.

:# If you think you have a useful bit of info (maybe not the above, IMO), integrate it properly into the article rather than leave it hanging down here like this. (You could ask if anyone else thought that "something-or-other might be a refererence to Hoojamaflip", and see if it sparks someone else's agreement, perhaps... In this case, I think it's tenuous, and any response to it might be as above.)

:# You're leaving seemingly random comments on many explanation Talk Pages, mostly brief and not all adding anything useful... The odd comment, or even an occasional long ramble, could be made judiciously and we'd take note. It's not Pokemon, you don't have to "catch 'em all". Enthusiasm is good, but don't mistake any old interaction with contribution.

:Just my opinion (all three points), and I'm not claiming to be an authoritative voice for all, but I hope you at least read/understand what I'm getting at. Whatever you do then. 172.69.195.181 08:48, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
