(You get just (redlink) YourTemplateName with [[]]s, not Template:YourTemplateName. You *can* use a global/non-Template workspace page as a template, but that's different. And these instructions are terrible in other ways, but at least "do it wrong" right.)

Step one: Type <code><nowiki>{{YourTemplateName}}</nowiki></code> on whatever page you want your template on.
 
 
 
Step Two: You should see a red line that says <code><nowiki>Template:YourTemplateName</nowiki></code>. Click it.
 
 
 
Step Three: Add the content of your template by typing it in wikitext. If you want to use a specific image, make sure to upload it first before linking to it in the template.
 
 
 
Step Four: Add content to the page that should not be included in the template. This can be done with the noinclude and /noinclude commands.
 
 
 
Step Five: Now that you've added the content of your template, it's time to use it! Use it in a page by typing <code><nowiki>{{YourTemplateName}}</nowiki></code> on whatever page you want to use it on. Make sure to not use it on comic pages or comic discussion pages.
