- There are several comics that almost share name with at least one other comics.
- Sometimes this is because they are related in a direct series, where it is just a number (part number) that changes, but this is not the case with all series.
- But a few comics actually share the exact same name, without being directly in a series:
- 786: Exoplanets and 1071: Exoplanets.
- 60: Super Bowl and 1480: Super Bowl.
- 827: Business Idea and 1721: Business Idea.
- Randall renamed the old one to 827: My Business Idea to fix a conflict on xkcd when he released the new one. But originally they had the same name.
- Why this problem did not occur the two previous times are uncertain.
- And at least four other pairs of comics only differ in that one of the titles is plural (sorted after oldest pair, i.e. the 2nd comic's age):
- All comics that thus share name with only up to one different character are listed here.
- Exception is made for instance if:
- The plural form changes more than just adding an "s", like for baby vs. babies,
- A word is split in two words in one comic s name and not the other like Flow Charts vs Flowchart, where also the plural is changed.
- For true series, however, where a number is added after the title, then only the series, not the individual comics are listed (for those that have their own category of course).
- Exception is made for instance if:
