Experiments

One lamp one color

• These nine gardens with one lamp in 9 different color settings were started one after each-other on April 7th.
  • The garden links are both in the Experimental gardens and on the name here below:
  • This image is to document the color setting. The gardens will not be changed any more. But the development can be followed and may be documented with more images here below.

• Nothing had happened the first 12 hours then finally two hours later something occurred (an octopus) which is almost more strange since this means the garden is not "dead", which could have explained the waiting time. And then also Cueball after four hour more.

• These eight gardens with one lamp in 8 different color settings were started simultaneous 20 hours after the nine above.
  • They are all set in between two of the nine color settings above, to give a 17 colored spectrum:

Growth speed vs blue light

• The one color blue garden (from the above experiment) grew very little compared to other gardens and previous blue gardens.
  • The theory was that some gardens seem to grow only few items.
  • Could it be distance?
• To test this these six gardens below were created right after each other.
  • Only pure blue light to make sure the light is the same
  • But with one, two or three lamps just covering everything, so the one lamp is much higher up than the three lamp version.
  • Two of each type is made to see how much different progress will be.
• The result was surprising but was correlated to what was seen with the one color blue:
  • Almost no growth appears anymore under pure blue light!
  • Octopuses seems to only grow around the lake
  • Only few Cueballs.
• From experiments with this color nothing can thus be said about distance.
  • But the ongoing development of what the gardens produce has never been clearer.
  • There may be new items all the time, but this seems to be on behalf of other items that grows differently although no new items appeared not even the columns that was seen after some days during the first week.
• Below are the six gardens with a screen shot from two days after creation.
  • Compare this with the one color blue garden above, and these blue light gardens from the first few days:
    • Octopus garden with black hat.
    • One blue light with pillars.
    • Three blue light with pillar and black hat.
    • Intense blue light.

Color maps

• These two images is collected from images using different colored light and then saving image in the game.
  • This leaves the black (and here nothing was allowed to grow), and then only the light cones.
  • What is white background is not rendered white. So by viewing it in a viewer with black background the images as shown below appear with only the colors left, and they are much more vivid.
• The first image is made from one lamp moving in 8 steps from red to blue giving 9 different colors.
  • They are all clearly different, which is not so easily seen on all screens/browsers.
  • There may be a smooth transition, but trying to distinguish more than these nine colors becomes very difficult.
• The second image overlaps three different colors so there is an overlap in the center of three colors.
  • The top row only uses the three basic colors, i.e. the two at each side red, blue and the starting color of light yellow straight up. If there where only these three colors there would be only 6 ways to arrange them, and only a few distinct.
    • But if there are nine colors there are more than 500 ways to mix them, although again half of these would be mirror type.
  • The other six images mixes with some or all colors taken from the other six positions used in the first, and as per the above this is only a small mix of possible combinations.
