Experiments[edit]
One lamp one color[edit]
- One lamp is used and it is lifted so high above the original starting point that the color dot can just be seen in the image for documentation.
- On the first day of this experiment (2016-04-07) 9 gardens were started, one after each-other, using the 9 color settings shown in the first image of the Color scale below
- On the second day (2016-04-08), 8 more gardens were started using the settings indicated in the second image below, between the nine dots from the original 9 garden, for a total of 17 different settings.
- It is very difficult to set this precisely by hand, so the settings are not as precise for any of the gardens as indicated in the image. Except of course for the starting color and the two extremes.
- The garden links are both in the Experimental gardens and on the color names here below:
- The first image is to document the color setting.
- The gardens will not be changed any more.
- But the development have been followed and been documented with more images here below for at least more than one week (as of today 2016-04-16, nine and eight days respectively.)
- Some gardens seemed to saturate and not produce any new growth rather quickly. (For instance Red and Orange red)
- But some of these suddenly sprang back to life, (For instance Orange 1 and Orange 2 that suddenly sprouted birds and flying Megans, both on day 6.)

Two weeks after the release of the comic, as second run of one color gardens was started. These gardens can be found at he bottom of the table of locked gardens. The growth development had slowed considerably, and not as many screen shots were needed to follow progress. Here below are at least one screen shot of a garden after eight days (where the first experiment also had it's last batch of images) for each of the 17 colors. Two gardens were created for each color, and the color setting was precisely set to those in the color scale shown above in this section. But only one will be shown if there is nothing new in the least developed garden.

Growth speed vs blue light[edit]
- The one color blue garden (from the above experiment) grew very little compared to other gardens and previous blue gardens.
- The theory was that some gardens seem to grow only few items.
- Could it be distance?
- To test this these six gardens below were created right after each other.
- Only pure blue light to make sure the light is the same
- But with one, two or three lamps just covering everything, so the one lamp is much higher up than the three lamp version.
- Two of each type is made to see how much different progress will be.
- The result was surprising but was correlated to what was seen with the one color blue:
- Almost no growth appears anymore under pure blue light!
- Octopuses seems to only grow around the lake
- Only few Cueballs.
- From experiments with this color nothing can thus be said about distance.
- But the ongoing development of what the gardens produce has never been clearer.
- There may be new items all the time, but this seems to be on behalf of other items that grows differently although no new items appeared not even the columns that was seen after some days during the first week.

Color maps[edit]
- These two images is collected from images using different colored light and then saving image in the game.
- This leaves the black (and here nothing was allowed to grow), and then only the light cones.
- What is white background is not rendered white. So by viewing it in a viewer with black background the images as shown below appear with only the colors left, and they are much more vivid.
- The first image is made from one lamp moving in 8 steps from red to blue giving 9 different colors.
- They are all clearly different, which is not so easily seen on all screens/browsers.
- There may be a smooth transition, but trying to distinguish more than these nine colors becomes very difficult.
- The second image overlaps three different colors so there is an overlap in the center of three colors.
- The top row only uses the three basic colors, i.e. the two at each side red, blue and the starting color of light yellow straight up. If there where only these three colors there would be only 6 ways to arrange them, and only a few distinct.
- But if there are nine colors there are more than 500 ways to mix them, although again half of these would be mirror type.
- The other six images mixes with some or all colors taken from the other six positions used in the first, and as per the above this is only a small mix of possible combinations.
- The top row only uses the three basic colors, i.e. the two at each side red, blue and the starting color of light yellow straight up. If there where only these three colors there would be only 6 ways to arrange them, and only a few distinct.
