Got to see totality for just over 2 mins (not like in comic 2921), as i was on the northern border of the eclipse. Real fun when you could take off the eclipse glasses and look at the corona directly. Also got to see a solar flare as a faint red dot. Its a shame that California was not in the totality path. --1234231587678 (talk) 03:10, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

:yeah, but our time to shine is in 20 years-totality in norcal. know what's even more of a shame? getting girl bossed and gatekeeped by the effing middle school principal into not being able to watch the eclipse with glasses-i just got like 4 pairs from home and distributed it throughout the school, then took a 20 minute bathroom break in 3rd period science. thankfully, I had 4th period run day in PE, so I was able to see most of it. Hey! I see that you have been helping us create the two tables! Thank you so much. I'm messaging you to coordinate a little bit. I also sent this message to User:Apollo11, since we're the 3 most active editors. I believe you and User:Apollo11 are unknowingly editing the table on what if? (blog) and What If? chapters side-by-side, doing the same thing but in different way. I admit this likely the cause of my mistake, but it doesn't matter.

To coordinate, i set up a plan on my user talk, and I've created a third table on my profile. My hope is that we can merge the two tables first, and then do everything else, so we don't accidentally make life harder for us. I've added a notice to the two pages saying to halt the editing of the tables until they are merged. I kindly ask you to read my message on my talk page and see if you think this is a good plan! --FaviFake (talk) 17:46, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

:Since my table was made yesterday, I manually re-added all of your edits, so we can only focus on that table. I didn't add the release stuff (i.e., first two week break), I think that should stay in the Release section of the main [[what if? Don't quite know what you were trying to do, leading up to 402883. Don't think you just wanted to remove the paragraph gap (so I restored it). But, if you want to explain what you thought you needed to do (along with the link case-changing that I do understand), I or someone else might be able to give you a guide on how wikitables work.

But, as a primer, the basic "<code>|-</code>" lines (usually with nothing else) depict the switch to a new row of cells, with subsequent lines starting with "<code>|</code>" (and, optionally, points midway along such lines with "<code>||</code>") depict a new cell in a new column of that row. It gets a bit more complicated with rowspan/colspan (not apparently relevent to your edit), but the basic idea is that a well-formed table usually has the same number of cells-per-row (as defined by the sub-sections separated by all applicable single or double pipings) for each row between the "<code>|-</code>"s. What you do within each cell (which can be multilined, even alongside an interesting complimentary mix of some lines being multicolumned!) is another matter (even tables-nested-within-tables, etc, should be possible, but normally best avoided or done a different way...), so long as you don't accidentally try and invoke the "next cell" by either starting the next line of the wikisource with a single pipe or inserting a bare (i.e. not within something like a template-call) double-pipe.

There's other interesting ways of working with (or through) tables, but I can't quite work out what you tried to do, so I couldn't just do it on your behalf, unfortunately. I'd happily work with you, though, to either get to do it for you or let you do it for yourself. 82.132.236.68 03:30, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

The huge what if? index[edit]

Since my table was made yesterday, I manually re-added all of your edits, so we can only focus on that table. I didn't add the release stuff (i.e., first two week break), I think that should stay in the Release section of the main what if? (blog) page. --FaviFake (talk) 18:02, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

Table help?[edit]

Don't quite know what you were trying to do, leading up to this point. Don't think you just wanted to remove the paragraph gap (so I restored it). But, if you want to explain what you thought you needed to do (along with the link case-changing that I do understand), I or someone else might be able to give you a guide on how wikitables work.

But, as a primer, the basic "|-" lines (usually with nothing else) depict the switch to a new row of cells, with subsequent lines starting with "|" (and, optionally, points midway along such lines with "||") depict a new cell in a new column of that row. It gets a bit more complicated with rowspan/colspan (not apparently relevent to your edit), but the basic idea is that a well-formed table usually has the same number of cells-per-row (as defined by the sub-sections separated by all applicable single or double pipings) for each row between the "|-"s.
