Before Randall acquired the xkcd website, he started by posting comics to LiveJournal at https://xkcd-drawings.livejournal.com. For a short period following the new site's launch (comics 45–55), new comics were posted more or less simultaneously both there and on LiveJournal; this practice ceased after 55: Useless, with all subsequent comics having been posted solely on xkcd.com.
